The update for Android 4.0 or Android ICS is something that Android users have been expecting ever since it was announced to the public. Motorola announced that most of their devices would receive the Anroid ICS update soon-depending on the device and location.

The first ones to receive the Android ICS update are users from the U.S. and Canada. American users are supposed to receive their Android ICS update for their Motorola Droid Razr and Motorola Droid Razr Maxx through the U.S. carrier, Verizon. Through this update, users can experience improved multitasking features through a new user interface element as well as a built-in data management service found in the settings app. This would enable users to have a limit in their data usage, additional apps (that are compatible with Android ICS), and a new lock screen. Though this was already announced earlier on, the update was delayed due to "server issues". On the other hand, there are also news reports stating that DroidLife, an Android 4.0 test built was spotted on the Cheesecake app for the Motorola Droid Bionic. Though Motorola has not announced any update for Motorola Droid Bionic, this could be an indication that an update would be coming sometime soon.

As for Australian users, Motorola Australia has announced that Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi and 3G tablets would be receiving their Android 4.0 or Android ICS update. Motorola Australia already informed their users that the Android update has already been submitted to Australian operators and as soon as the test has been completed, it will rolled out OTA (over the air). Here is Motorola Australia's official announcement through its Facebook Page:

"We have an update for all of our Xoom fans. We have now submitted our final round of software to our carrier partners for testing. It will take two weeks for them to test. Provided there are no issues found during the testing, we expect to upgrade Motorola Xoom to Ice Cream Sandwich for both WiFi and 3G users on June 21st."
