Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Released for Kobo Arc Tablet

Kobo Arc Tablet is an innovative and customised e-Reader device featuring music, movies, and articles connected to media pinned to your Tapestries. It is considered the competitor of the Amazon Kindle Fire HD and the Barnes & Nobles's Nook HD.
The award-winning and Google-certified Kobo Arc Tablet 7 received an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. The software update includes an optimised user experience, faster performance, improved search capabilities, increased touch responsiveness and additional intelligence features to help organise and streamline information with actionable notifications.

Key Android 4.1 Jelly Bean features include:
- Google Now - Personalises information based on a user's location, time of day, history, and calendar events. The feature displays restaurants in the area, how much traffic to expect before the morning commute, when the next train is coming, the score of a current game, a flight status and more.
- Richer Notifications - Kobo Arc users can now action notifications directly within the notifications area as well as expand and collapse notifications to display more or less detail.
- Improved Search - The Google Search feature can now be opened directly from the lock screen by swiping up and users have the option to simply say "Google" to activate the Voice Search within the Google Search screen.
- Optimised Voice Recognition and Boosted Predictive Typing - Android Jelly Bean version introduces the text-to-speech capabilities and an embedded speech recognise that enables Voice Typing without an Internet connection.
- Face Unlock - Jelly Bean improved the Face Unlock feature from the Ice Cream Sandwich and can now be calibrated in different conditions with an optional blink requirement to verify a live person to unlock the device.
- Improved Security - Kobo Arc Tablet is now more secure with Google's improvements against malware infection.
