Android 4.4.2 (KOT49H) Heads to Nexus Devices with Quick Bug Fixes [DOWNLOAD LINKS]
Google has only started rolling out the Android 4.4.1 update but it looks like a new fix is also good to go as Android 4.4.2 just recently showed up on Nexus devices. Some owners have been frustrated that their Nexus devices are not receiving the camera fix upgrade from Android 4.4.1 but the reason behind that is that Google wanted to get those other devices queued up for the new Android 4.4.2 update instead. This update is not much different from 4.4.1 but it brings a lot of bug fixes that improve overall user experience.
Here's a short list of what Nexus device owners can expect:
- Fix for the VM indicator clearing
- Fix for the VM indicator delivery
- Several additional software bug fixes
- Security enhancement
The Android 4.4.2 upgrade is available on all of the latest Nexus devices, including the Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and the Nexus 7 2012/2013 tablets. The update will roll over the air but if you don't see yours, be sure to wait and check again or you can simply find the manual upgrade files here instead. Don't forget to charge the battery and turn on your Wi-Fi even if this is said to be a very light upgrade. Use the links at your own risk if you know how.

AppOps doesn't work anymore as Settings crashes and users need to wait for developers to figure this out. Developers are already looking for potential entry points to accept commands that can load the AppOpsSummary fragment removed from Android 4.4.3 but so far it isn't clear yet. Android 4.4.2 also fixes the SMS DoS bug.
