HTC Android 5.0 Lollipop Release
HTC is still developing the Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware for several models under the HTC One device series. According to the official website, the Developer Edition of HTC One M8 is currently running on Android KitKat with HTC Eye Experience and in the Evaluation Stage of Android Lollipop release. HTC plans to release Android 5.0 within 90 days after Google's official launch.
LG Android 5.0 Lollipop Release
LG announced the upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop release for the G3 smartphone. Press news from the company confirmed that Android 5.0 update will commence in Poland first within the week followed by other key markets soon. Features included on the Android 5.0 update for LG G3 are new design language with added depth, shadows and animations, improvements on the notifications, new lock screen, new layout and new colour schemes.
Motorola Android 5.0 Lollipop Release
Several Motorola smartphones have been included on the upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop to be released in the coming weeks, but Moto X 2014 "Pure Edition" variant seems ahead of other Motorola devices. DroidLife reported that Motorola is only pushing Android 5.0 Lollipop 22.11.6 system version to the members of the company-based feedback network using "Pure Edition" Moto X smartphone, which is designed for soak-testing to find bugs and other issues before its official release. It is not available via Over-the-air update and can only be installed via manual flashing method.
Android 5.0 Lollipop For Nexus Devices
Official Android 5.0 Lollipop update for LG Nexus 4, LG Nexus 5, ASUS Nexus 7 and Samsung Nexus 10 has been delayed due to major bugs found on the firmware related to Wi-Fi battery drain. Google developers managed to resolve the bugs and expect to release the update as early as Nov. 12. Users with advanced knowledge on flashing ROMs can attempt to install the unofficial builds for Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 via XDA Developers Forum.
Samsung Android 5.0 Lollipop Release
Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware from Samsung has been spotted under testing phase on two flagship smartphones. SamMobile reported the alpha build of Android 5.0 on Samsung Galaxy S5 running LRW58J firmware version and was updated to LRX02E which brings the Easter egg called "Android Bird" game. Galaxy S4 is the latest addition on Android 5.0 testing and SamMobile also spotted the firmware demo having Lollipop-optimised TouchWiz UI, porting of Galaxy S5 TouchWiz launcher along with My Magazines, Popping Colours lock screen effect and major overhaul of system apps from Samsung.
Sony Android 5.0 Lollipop Release
Sony Mobile expanded the Android 5.0 Lollipop to all models under the Sony Xperia Z device series including the older Xperia Z edition released in 2013. Latest news from Sony is the Android 5.0 Lollipop AOSP build running on the Xperia Z3 flagship smartphone. Changes included on the test build are more responsive user interface, better control of the security of the device, new ways to control notification and improved performance. Sony plans to roll out the new firmware by early 2015 starting on Xperia Z3 devices.
