Android ICS Update Now at 10% Including Sony Xperia S and Xperia Mini
Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) was first introduced to the public last year. Ever since it was introduced, statistics show that Android ICS update has already rolled out for 10.9% for all Android-based devices.
This finding was based on the data collected from Android devices that accessed Google Play, the Android application store for a span of two weeks. These figures reveal a considerable improvement if compared to the statistics from the previous week which is around 7%. The increase for this was attributed to the sale of smartphones that already have Android ICS pre-installed as its OS like HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 as opposed to the expected fast roll out of Android ICS update to other smartphones.
Android ICS Update
Barely after a year after Android ICS was revealed, Google already introduced the next Android version which is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This recent update from Google would bring about more improved features that would enable users to maximize their Android-based smartphones or tablets. Despite this new update, many poeple were concerned because they have not yet received the expected Android ICS update. The long waiting time for the update is already a growing concern for Android users all over the world.
Sony Xperia S and Xperia Mini
Other devices that are set to receive the much-awaited Android ICS update is Sony Xperia S. Sony Mobile Australia have updated their official Facebook Page to inform their Australian users that their Android ICS update is now ready. Here is an excerpt from their official Facebook Page announcement:
Great news, the software upgrade for Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich on Xperia S has begun. Your network providers will send a SMS notification directly to your phone when the upgrade is available to download. For further information keep an eye on http://blogs.sonymobile.com/products/
Another Sony device that is slated for Android ICS update is Xperia Mini. The update for Xperia Mini has already started globally but not all devices would receive the update at the same time. The update will be rolled out by batches which is based on its sales item number. The sales item number is an 8-digit number which can be found at the back of the device. Sony Xperia Mini users could check their own sales number against the list provided by Sony in their blog regarding their Android ICS update.
Android ICS will bring about new and improved features for Android OS which includes resizable widgets, improved control of mobile date consumption, new apps button, and much more.
