Some of them have not even seen her films but the arrival of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador and actress Angelina Jolie was a welcome sight to thousands of refugees on Libya-Tunisia border.

The Agence France Presse confirms that the star for films such as ‘The Tourist’ and ‘Salt’ has made a surprise visit to the border between Tunisia and Libya and met the refugees fleeing from the conflicts in the North African country.

The depressing mood at Shousha refugee camp came to life as the ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ star arrived at the camp, which according to AFP has been serving as transit centre for thousands of people escaping the Libya conflict.

"Angelina we love you!" cried in unison by the refugees from Ghana, Congo, Nigeria and Ivory Coast.

The actress said Agence France Presse, sat down with the UNHCR officials in the camp after talking to the refugees sheltered in at least two tents.

"We're tired of being here! We want to return to Nigeria, take us with you!," a Nigerian refugee was quoted shouting at Jolie as she was making the rounds at the camp.

The Agence France Presse also noted the relief felt and shared by a Congolese refugee Emmanuel Gatoni who said: "It's a very good thing that she is here, even if I have not seen her films."

UNHCR accounted that some of the refugees sheltered at Shousha camp are workers from other African country and found nowhere to go after fleeing the conflict in Libya.

Jolie is UNHCR’s representative for years and has been undertaking humanitarian works in between her movie projects. A report by IBTimes said that ‘The Tomb Raider’ star was last seen visiting the refugees in Afghanistan in early March.
