Anna Sophia Robb Plays Young Carrie in 'Sex & the City' Prequel
The infamous television show "Sex and the City" has finally found the actress who's in the talks to play the young Carrie Bradshaw in "The Carrie Diaries." The big question is: Who is she?
Though there isn't any resemblance at all between Sarah Jessica Parker and AnnaSophia Robb, the "Soul Surfer" star is set to play the young Carrie.
Rumors have hit up all over the web about the pilot episode of the highly-anticipated prequel to the provocative television show, "Sex and the City." The usual problems have of course come up such as who would play the lead and what the story would basically revolve around.
Author Candace Bushnell, who had just about finished the novels, "The Carrie Diaries", covering Carrie Bradshaw's teenage years opens up at the Maria Shriver's Women Conference at Long Beach, California about what the series would basically be about.
"In the first book, she's 17," shared Bushnell. "It's a coming of age story," added Candace. Would "coming of age" basically necessitate Carrie losing her virginity which would connect to her life in "Sex and the City"?
"That's too far ahead. I'm just thinking about the character in the book," explained Candace. The book will be out by spring and now that the lead role has been given to AnnaSophia Robb, fans of SATC are awaiting the pilot episode of "The Carrie Diaries."
"The Carrie Diaries" is said to begin during Carrie's senior year at high school where she begins to question about love, friendship, family and sex while she's at Manhattan. Producer Amy Harris is said to direct the series.
With all the details about the show filled in, it's about time to talk about the girl who'll be playing the young Carrie, Anna Sophia Robb. Before her break out film, "Soul Surfer", AnnaSophia Robb had a few movies she had starred in. The first would be as the kid named Opal in the film "Because of Winn-Dixie" in the year 2005.
Anna Sophia also played the annoying girl, Violet Beauregarde, in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" alongside Johnny Depp while in the film "Bridge to Terabithia" she acted alongside "Hunger Games" star, Josh Hutcherson.
A few other movies Anna Sophia Robb had starred in include "The Reaping", "West Texas Lullaby", "Spy School", "Sleepwalking", "Jumper", "Race to Witch Mountain" and "The Space Between."
Robb has starred in a lot of films and worked alongside a few big names in Hollywood. Now that she's to star as the young Carrie, AnnaSophia has finally got the break she deserves.
