Anna Wintour Negotiating for Kate Middleton Vogue Cover [PHOTOS]

Wintour is currently negotiating with various people to convince Kate Middleton pick Vogue US to be the first high fashion magazine with her image on the cover.

The editor-at-large of one of the world's biggest fashion bibles is allegedly talking to a handful of influential people to nab the Duchess' approval to shoot her cover. According to reports, Wintour has been talking to famed photographer Mario Testino, a close friend of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to do the cover shoot for the magazine.

The London-based photographer was also the one who took the Royal Couple's official engagement photo, and is constantly shooting the Royal Family for various publicities. Although the negotiation looks promising, not everyone are convinced that Kate Middleton will choose the magazine above others.

"Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue. But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen. The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate," said one insider in a report by the New York Post.

The Duchess has declined an offer to appear on the Vogue US' cover a few months shy before her wedding. The magazine's British editor asked Middleton to appear for the wedding edition of the magazine, but the Duchess declined respectfully.

Wintour has been quoted praising Middleton's style in the past, saying the Duchess has "nothing trashy or vulgar about her, and that Middleton "dresses her age and never looks out of place."

Middleton became an instant fashion icon after wearing a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen laced wedding dress. Since then, the fashion world has been constantly keeping an eye on the future Queen of England, reporting each and every single piece of clothing she wears in public.

The Duchess has spiked up the sales of varous fashion houses, including Issa London and Reiss, whose creations frequent Middleton's closet.
