Anonymous Takes On Mexican Drug Cartel After Kidnapping of Hacker
Anonymous hackers are taking on the violent Mexican drug cartel Zetas after one member was allegedly kidnapped by the gang notorious for executing rivals, police and civilians who get in their way.
Anonymous warned the Zetas in a YouTube video that it will expose members of the gang so they could be arrested.
In the video posted on Oct. 6, a person wearing a Guy Fawkes mask and calling himself "MrAnonymousguyfawkes" warned the Zetas in Spanish that photos, and addresses of police officials, journalists, and taxi drivers that collaborate with the drug cartel will be published on Nov. 5.
"You made a huge mistake by taking one of us. Release him. And if anything happens to him, you (expletive) will always remember this upcoming November 5th," the masked person said in the English translation of his announcement, according to Computerworld.com. "We all know who they are and where they are," said the speaker in the video.

Anonymous chose the date to coincide with Guy Fawkes Day in the U.K. It was on the same day in 1605 that Fawkes tried to blow up the British parliament and his face is now used as masks by Anonymous hackers.
Anonymous Mexico gave a sample of what it do by defacing on Sunday the website of a former official of Mexico's Tabasco state leaving a message accusing him as a Zetas accomplice.
Meanwhile, Anonymous warned members to protect their online identities and never wear the Guy Fawkes mask in public in an apparent precaution against anticipated attacks from the Zetas gang.
