Another Brazilian Joining Naymar to Barcelona; Imposing Defender Ready To Play for Spanish Powerhouse
Thiago Silva will be playing for Barcelona next season, joining Brazilian teammate Neymar in the Spanish La Liga powerhouse.
Silva, who drew interest from the Spanish ball club since last season, confirmed in Brazilian radio station SER that he will accept any contract offered to him by Barcelona.
The feisty Brazilian defender even added that it would be stupid to reject the chance to play for Barcelona.
Silva, who played for Paris Saint-Germain last season, confessed that Barcelona manager Tito Villanova invited him to play for his team right after their Champions League meeting last season.
Meanwhile, Thiago's agent Paulo Tonietto said Barcelona should make their move right away to get the player they desire to have.
"There's a lot of talk about Tito wanting him, but if that's the case then someone should start talking," he said. "If you want to buy something, you can't just sit at home watching the TV."
According to Sport newspaper, Barcelona has already sent a representative to Brazil to negotiate with the 28-year-old defender and his agents. Radio Station Catalunya also reported that Barcelona already lodged $32 million with the French football club for the rights to get Silva.
