Ansell restructures for growth strategy
Healthcare and industrial products maker Ansell Ltd has created four global business units as a result of its company-wide review, and consequent efforts to grow through acquisitions.
"Based on this assessment, an updated and more assertive growth strategy has been developed that calls for faster and more focused execution of organic growth plans with an increased emphasis on acquisitions," the company said.
Ansell did not specify the size of the companies it was searching for, although it said in February that it was capable of "reasonable sized" acquisitions.
To support the company's assertive strategy, Ansell chief executive Magnus Nicolin said "four global business units are being established." These are Medical, Industrial, New Verticals & Advanced Concepts, and Sexual Health & Well Being.
Melbourne-based Peter Carroll will head the Sexual Health & Well Being unit, formerly called consumer business.
US-based Scott Papier will lead the new Medical division. His fellow US executive Scott Corriveau is appointed as head of the new Verticals & Advanced Concepts department.
Werner Heintz from Brussels will be the leader of the Industrial unit.
All four global business units will have individual responsibilities for business strategy, innovation, product development, marketing and brand development.
