Apparently, hair stockings are the rage in China these days. These fashion accessories are reportedly sold in China, and have been selling out fast.

While some people might easily dismiss these as another weird fashion trend for people who have unconventional perception of beauty (think bird poop facials and bagel-shaped forehead injections), these leggings have a more noble purpose.

These peculiar bottomwear are primarily created to ward off unwanted attention from maniacs by giving wearers the appearance of having really bushy and therefore unappealing legs.

"Super sexy, summertime anti-pervert full-leg-of-hair stockings, essential for all young girls going out," a user named HappyZhangJiang posted on Sina Weibo.

Unconventional, yes; it's even a little extreme way to discourage perverts from lusting after women. But are they effective?

"This will not only prevent against perverts, it'll definitely also result in preventing handsome guys from approaching you. When things go to the extreme, they can only go the opposite direction!!!" one commenter said (as translated by chinasmack.com).

Interested women who are fed up of men admiring their smooth legs can keep their cash for now because the Web site didn't mention where exactly the stockings can be purchased.

However for some Hollywood celebrities, they don't need hair stockings; they can manage on their own.
