Apple announced its plans on increasing expandability of Mac Pro. This will enhance the professional work desktop station by 1/8th of its predecessor. The company is gearing up on boosting the product selection by providing incredible internal expansion space. People can expect a lot from the 2013 Mac Pro.

The new Mac Pro remains a big mystery as Apple is still keeping the full details about its system. Apple is not letting so much out even the type of Xeon processors the new desktop pro will be running on. Other detail there is much speculation about is the type of dual AMD FirePro GPU and pricing of the newest device.

What reports do indicate is that the system will feature replaceable PCIe flash storage for the primary drive. There will also be DDR3 ECC memory, four DIMM slots for 1,866MHz and a massive heat sink where the components are built around. A single fan is installed for cooling. Other features include six Thunderbold 2 ports, four USB 3.0 ports and HDMI port.

Apple is stepping up their external expansion offering as many ports as possible. But the company is not stopping at that. Mac Pro loyals will be delighted to find the rows of internal hard drives and PCIe adapters.

The company is proving that external expansion is just as possible with their Mac series as with any computing device. Expansion boxes like USB drives, PCIe and Thunderbolt can all be connected to the Mac Pro. These boxes are similar to OWC and Sonnet allowing users to get their video input or graphic output card.

These boxes are also ideal for connecting a series of eSATA drives. People working for companies with standardized eSATA drives can find this useful. In terms of functions, analysts think the expansion option for Mac Pro should be just fine.
