Apple has finally launched the new MacBook Air with additional details and specifications which were not included when it was initially reported. Sources confirmed the shipments of new MacBook Airs have begun arriving in large quantities to Apple Stores across the country.

The new MacBook Air, available in two sizes such as 11 inches and 13 inches, is thinner and lighter than its earlier launches. It comes with an improved and upgraded Intel's energy such as efficient Haswell processor, faster PCI Express based storage, faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi and a small speed bump as some of its features.

The new 11.6-inch MacBook Air will be similar to the standard 10.1-inch netbook, yet the frame around the screen is narrower and the profile of the MacBook air will further lose a few millimeters as the machine is 0.3 mm thick at its slimmest edge and measures 1.7 cm at the display hinged edge.

The 13.3-inch MacBook Air model is similar to the 11.6-inch MacBook Air when it comes to design. Sources said the notebook offers a 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, a very minor boost from the current entry level 1.3GHz processor in the 13-inch version.

The MacBook Air continues to offer the same amount of storage space, RAM and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. There has been no upgrade to Thunderbolt 2, which was included in the latest Retina MacBook Pro. The Airs continue to use Intel's HD Graphics 5000 and the upgraded Haswell processor in a small speed boost.

"Tomorrow's 11-inch and 13-inch Airs are codenamed J41A and J43A, respectively and their SKUs are simply a variation to the current MacBook Air SKU labels. For example, the entry 13-inch MacBook Air of today is known as "MD760LL/A", while this week's refreshed version is known as "MD760LL/B." It's unclear if Apple will even promote the updated Airs."

Although Apple plans a minor MacBook Air release this week, the company has a second 12-inch MacBook Air that could be released later in the year. This MacBook is expected with some major refresh, slimmer frame without fans, Retina display and a buttonless trackpad.

It is unclear as to what all changes and specifics have been upgraded in the current launch. But Apple will bring it huge and take it up to an unimaginable level.
