Apple to monopolise benefits from iOS 9 ad-blocking, to see robust growth further
Apple's upcoming iOS 9 will block content, allowing users to avoid promotional ads, tracker and other similar feeds. While this sounds great on the user's perspective, the iOS features may have negative implications for publishers and advertisers. Nevertheless, Apple will continue to see robust growth in the coming periods as analysts see great potential in its upcoming business ventures more importantly in China.
Apple's content-blocking move on the iOS 9 will offer great user experience for particular users but not on other brands except Apple. According to a report from The Next Web, Apple's new breed of apps can block incoming content prior to loading. The app will feed a list of scripts and sites to the device's operating system for blocking.
This is against waiting for the browser to load the ads then choosing to block them. Also, the content blocker feature will also stop trackers for analytics and advertising, thus allowing users to refuse sharing their information based on ads and other promotional content.
Apple stands to gain further with ad-blocking as it can drive publishers to its iOS 9 News app, allowing it to get a cut from the advertising costs. Publishers who refuse to become a part of the News App will be forced to create their native apps. Still, they will have to use iAd to earn from their content.
The income and business possibilities of iOS 9 are just the tip of the iceberg for Apple's growth. China remains to be a key catalyst for Apple's development. According to The Motley Fool, there are two reasons why China is crucial for Apple: domination at the high-end level and China Mobile remaining a growth driver for the company. Apple remains a dominant choice of phone in China, especially in the high-end market with its year-over-year growth still potentially increasing and outpacing overall market growth. This is not to mention its upcoming phones: iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Furthermore, China Mobile's upcoming launch of the LTE will be beneficial for mobile devices like Apple's iPhone.
