Apple Says iOS 8.0.1 Flawed, Instructs to Downgrade, Will Release iOS 8.0.2v to Fix Bugs
Upgrade Creates Problems in Touch ID and Cellular Connectivity
The new platform for the mobile operating system iOS 8 with its new features was an absolute winner among the iPhone users. Just five days into its launch it is estimated that one in four Apple devices are running the latest version of the iOS.
An update to the iOS 8 the version 8.0.1 went bad when users started updating their handsets. They began having problems with software update and maintenance. After installing the software users were not able to establish cellular connection and the Touch ID was unable to recognise the user's fingerprints. Apple took notice of the problem and was immediately forced to pull the update from its servers.
Since this problem seemed to affect a large number of users after installing the iOS 8.0.1. Apple has advised users not to install it. Those who have not yet installed the update are advised not to do so as this problem is being faced by many users.
According to Appleinsider the news and rumour website for Apple products reported that the carrier connectivity issues were faced by the Appleinsider readers who used Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. After the update users also found that the handset did not recognise their fingerprints to unlock the phone.
Appleinsider states that those who have already updated their handsets can unlock their phone with their secure pass-code and connect to data over Wi-Fi.
After pulling back the update Apple instructed users affected by cellular and Touch ID issues to downgrade back to iOS 8 while the company fixes this problem. The Health app too was unable to function with the new update. Apple noticed the issues preventing the Health app from functioning began functioning after the downgrade.
Apple is planning to release a new version of iOS 8.0.2v with a patch to fix all the problems in the iOS 8.0.1. The new update with the bug fixes will be released in the days to come, according to the support document posted on the Apple website.
