Apple's Continued Product Delay Puts Everyone on the Edge of Their Seats
People lined up the streets to wait for the release of the first iPhone in 2007. From the time Steve Jobs unveiled one of the world's most popular mobile handset, people have always anticipated product releases and announcements from Apple. To many businesses like shopping stores and developers, whatever Apple puts out is their bread and butter. Is the same still going on today?
Apple has been in a long drought. The company has not released anything major since October of last year. Sponsors and stores are usually on the lookout for the next Apple deal. The California-based company, once considered the most valuable company on the planet, has yet to offer the market another offering that would bring back the same impact they had when Steve Jobs was around.
Businesses are on the edge of their seats, some even hanging on for dear life, as Apple's CEO Tim Cook said the company will not release anything until fall. That is almost a whole year without any major launch.
"It's been a radical change because I'd gotten so used to being out there," Mashable quoted Greg Packer.
"Usually when they launch a new iPad or iPhone, we see a huge number of new customers buying apps," Readdle Marketing Director, Denys Zhadanov, explained. The company creates iOS apps like Scanner Pro and Calendar +.
"The lack of the new iPad model this spring had a pretty noticeable effect on our sales," he added.
Apple has created its own business ecosystem where most of its products spawned and supported businesses. Until the company proves to have something exceptional under its sleeves, many companies and consumers will have to wait.
