The Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference has brought in exciting features to iOS 8. The most amazing feature is its camera app leveraging existing iPhone and iPad hardware by applying software tweaks.

Apple opened the doors for developers to work hard to create and improve the camera apps. Earlier, an iOS camera of devices had limited specs, only allowing basic controls like flash, HDR, ISO boosting and other capabilities. It was also fully automated and there were not much experiments that could have been done on images.

The camera apps built on iOS 8 can now control all its capabilities giving extras like ISO, aperture and shutter-speed control and more. Appleinsider reported the third-party app makers would create camera apps for the first time that will be above highly automated and constrained implementations offered earlier.

The report added users will enjoy the visible additions like timer and separate controls for focus and exposure. The timer comes with 3-second and 10-second delays, along with an off mode. While there are onscreen taps to independently control focus and exposure which go above AF/AE lock on iOS 7.

The new time lapse mode helps in creating a video that is a combination of various snapshots taken at time intervals. To use this mode, users swipe left for "time-lapse" and press the record button to let the iPhone capture for a desired period. Once all the pictures are taken, these photos are put together and played back at a higher frame than what was captured.

iPad owners will also enjoy the feature of panorama mode, which was missing in iOS 7. AppleInsider reported another big news that the PhotoKit can now functionally access the pictures saved in photos and camera roll. This means the photo apps can now access the photo library directly from the application rather than having different photo library within each separate editing app.

The camera will also include iCloud integration to make all the photos available in all the devices where the user is registered.
