Apple’s OS X Yosemite Under Maintenance After Complaints Of Wi-Fi Issues
After three weeks of being released to the public, the Yosemite was sent back to developers for maintenance testing due to some problems reported by users. According to reports, the tech giant specifically asked the developers to focus on three main points -- Wi-Fi connectivity being on the list.
Currently, the OS Build named as version10.10.1 (14B17) is only available to registered Apple coders. According to Apple's developer site, the company's request was to focus on Wi-Fi, Exchange Accounts in the Mail application and the Notification center.
Based on PCWorld's report, the Wi-Fi problem that is possibly caused by a bug has finally been recognized by Apple. Apparently, the bug in Yosemite triggers the malfunction to a significant number of users' connections. Complaints from affected Mac owners went wild on some social media sites, forums and even blogs, venting that their Wi-Fi connection became useless after they switched to the Yosemite.
There are roughly 575 threads about internet and Wi-Fi issues targeting the Yosemite found on Apple's official support forum. For instance a thread titled "OSX Yosemite Wifi Issues" which got about 800 comments and was viewed 106,000 times. Another thread has already 200 comments and more than 32,000 views and is negatively titled "Yosemite (OS X 10.10) killed my WiFi."
Problems like slow connections, connections that consistently drop or connections that don't work at all are the most common complaints brought about by affected users. Despite the many unofficial and unsolicited workarounds, the variety of proposed fixes didn't seem to work.
Undoubtedly, the OS X Yosemite upon its release last October 16 promised a whole new extravaganza of changes and featured improvements plus improvements to a number of OS X apps. Despite the rigid beta testing that the OS has undergone for several months, Apple's new OS still showed some weaknesses. And with all the commotion going on there is one clear solution to the problem: Yosemite needs to be updated. Users still have to wait and see the improvements that the OS will bring upon its "re-release", MacRumors reports.
