Conflicting reports on the actual specs that Samsung would unleash with the upcoming Galaxy S4 suggest two versions of the handset are geared to hit the market - one for international buyers and the other for the North American region.

A GL Benchmark leak that started whirling through numerous blog sites last week pointed to a Qualcomm-powered S4 that apparently will make it to the U.S. market via Verizon. The test sheet spelled out a 1.9GHz quad-core device that bears the model number SHV-E300S.

Other entries also hinted that the handset is a 1080p phone which will stand on a slightly outdated Android, JellyBean 4.2. However, it is likely that come unveiling time, this alleged S4 version is all-prepped up to chew in JellyBean 4.2.2.

Then a new report from Italian website Android Caotic came out over the weekend and lent support to earlier claims that Samsung is using Exynos CPU to its latest flagship offering, specifically the Exynos 5440 class at 1.4GHz.

There was no mention of any other details but the report suggested too that the Exynos CPU in the Galaxy S4 would get considerable support from a 2GB of RAM, further boosting the general anticipation that the Galaxy S3 replacement is snappier and packs more processing power.

And as detailed by a purported Samsung roadmap that was published last month, Galaxy smartphone buyers will be getting a 5-inch screen multi-function gizmo that is set to elicit awe with the fresh rendition of Super AMOLED display technology.

Opting for more than one edition of its mobile phones is not new to Samsung. It has been the norm for the Asian tech giant and such approach largely played a big role on its successful run so far.

If indeed Samsung is contemplating two S4s for its 2013 salvo, the Qualcomm-flavoured will serve mostly U.S. buyers while the Exynos-laced handset is programmed for worldwide distribution, probably hitting Asia-Pacific, Europe and other selected markets, blog reports said.

Regardless, the smartphone is set for unwrapping on March 15 and should start selling by early April. Samsung has reportedly ordered the production of 100 million Galaxy S4s, which the company intends to sell out prior to the arrival of another Galaxy S refresh next year.
