Ariana Grande Opens Up About Jennette McCurdy Rumors, 'I am NOT making more money than my costar'
Ever since Jennette McCurdy's bikini pictures leaked on the Internet, there have been rumours about her quitting "Sam &Cat," which also stars Ariana Grande. Recently, McCurdy's was absent from the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards, which has added fuel to the existing rumours of her exiting the Nickelodeon show.
Moreover, McCurdy's friendship with Grande might be also at stake, as the two stars are reportedly not treated as equals. According to media speculation, Jennette wants a hike in her salary, as she does not get paid as much as Ariana. This is also seen as one of the reasons why McCurdy did not attend the Awards function.
However, her co-star and singer Ariana Grande has denied via her Facebook page that she gets paid more than her co-star. The 20-year-old, talking directly to her fans and critics on the popular social media site, said that she is not making more money than Jennette on the show. She also said that both she and Jennette get the same treatment.
"I hate addressing rumors and I hate gossip but this is really bothering me. Jennette and I agreed upfront that we would be treated equally on this show in all regards (as we should be, considering we each work just as hard as the other on this show)," Grande said on her Facebook account.
Ariana also confirms that all the rumours circulating about their contracts and salary are "absolutely ridiculous and false."
"As far as the show goes, I don't know what's happening because I'm not directly involved with the problem but I just wanted to address this one rumor in particular because I am NOT making more money than my costar, nor do I think I should be," Grande said, trying to put an end to all the rumours.
The "Tattooed Heart" singer requested all her fans to move ahead and not see it anymore as a money thing.
"So we can all move on and get out of our heads that this was a money thing cause I don't play like that at all. I am, have always been and always will be about equality and fairness," Grande said.
