Arrow Season 2, Episode 1 Recap
To quickly recap "City of Heroes," changes begin to unfold following the death of Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell). Dig (David Ramsey) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) tracked down Oliver Queen, who has gone back to the island. He refuses to come back to Starling City. But he realizes the Queen Industries needs him.
Olicity followers enjoyed a lot of "moments" in the Season 2 premiere, but many geeks' eyes were set on Summer Glau. She joins the series as Isabel Rochev, aiming to take over the Queens' company. Moira Queen (Susanna Thompson) warns Oliver against the treacherous Rochev. She tells him to call a "family" for help. Enter Walter Steele (Colin Salmon).
Laurel Lance and Oliver Queen: 'Off Again' in Arrow Season 2
Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) tells Oliver Queen they couldn't be together because she feels she betrayed Tommy. Later, the two accidentally meet at Tommy's grave. Oliver tells her he needs her in his life. They are still -- and will always be -- friends.
Thea (Willa Holland) is abducted by some hood guys seeking revenge against Moira Queen. Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) tries to stop the abductors, but he's just not ready yet. Black Canary later appears to help the future Red Arrow in an action sequence against some bad guys. Many viewers are sure this is Sara Lance, alive and well, returning to help save her home city.
The attack against his sister forces Oliver to be "The Hood" once more. Oliver shows up as The Hood to the now demoted Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) to deliver the bad guys. Once Thea was saved, Oliver Queen tells Dig and Felicity he wants a new name. And the camera pans to the arrow he's holding. Green Arrow. Cut to end. (Identity, eh?)
