'Arrow' Season 2, 'League of Assassins' Spoilers: Big Stunts, Exciting Action with Black Canary, Arrow, and Malcolm Merlyn?
"Arrow" Season 2, Episode 5 is called "League of Assassins." The plural form in the title suggests more villains, more action. Black Canary and (Green) Arrow are on the same side, as a shadow of Malcolm Merlyn attacks the Queen Manor. Stephen Amell is teasing fans on Twitter, hinting this episode is a must-watch.
Spoiler alert: This feature contains minor spoilers (mostly teasers) for those who have not seen Arrow S02x05: "League of Assassins."
Stephen Amell, who plays (Green) Arrow aka Oliver Queen, has a few words to say to his Twitter followers: "So excited for people to see tonight's episode that my stomach is kind of upset. #Arrow."
On TV.com, Arrow 2x5 "League of Assassins" is summarised this way:
"An assassin attacks Queen Manor in an attempt to kill Black Canary (Caity Lotz), who has taken refuge there with Oliver's help. Meanwhile, Moira (Susanna Thompson) is reluctant to make a guilty plea despite Thea's (Willa Holland) advice, and Oliver is furious when he discovers that Laurel (Katie Cassidy) will be prosecuting his mother in court."
Black Canary's history is related to Malcolm Merlyn, and "League of Assassins" is expected to show the extent of association. Earlier spoilers indicate John Barrowman will be back to reprise his Merlyn role, although he is believed be dead. It must be noted that Barrowman is not listed among the cast appearing in 'League.'
Arrow Season 2 regulars Emily Bett Rickards and David Ramsey are also part of this episode as Felicity Smoak and John Diggle (Dig). They are expected to back Oliver Queen in protecting Black Canary, while he looks after his mother Moira at the same time.
In related updates, Olicity fans failed to help Stephen Amell and Emily make it to the People's Choice Awards for the Favorite On-Screen Chemistry category. But Stephen makes it to the Favorite Sci-Fi TV Actor. He is pitted against fellow "hunks" from The CW network -- Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Ian Somerhalder from "Supernatural" and "The Vampire Diaries." The fifth nominee is from AMC cable series, "The Walking Dead," Andrew Lincoln. How will "Arrow" Season 2 manage the competition?
Oliver Queen has chosen to abandon senseless killings to honour his friend, Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell). Caity Lotz joins the cast for the origins story of Black Canary, a role that is expected to be portrayed by Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance), eventually. So far, in Arrow Season 2, viewers have seen Bronze Tiger and Brother Blood, both also from the DC Comics universe. Summer Glau has also joined the cast, but her Isabel Rochev has yet to really get in Arrow's way. The Flash is coming, too, so viewers are in for more DC mash-up action.
Arrow Season 2 "League of Assassins" airs Nov. 6 on The CW. Arrow is the lead-in series for "The Tomorrow People," which is currently creating some Sci-Fi buzz. 'Tomorrow' stars Stephen Amell's cousin, Robbie Amell.
