"Arrow" Season 3, Episode 9, titled "The Climb," airs this Wednesday, Dec. 11, on The CW. Ra's al Ghul, the head of the League of Assassins, threatens to wreak havoc in Starling City. His daughter Nyssa sends Oliver Queen a message related to the murder of the Canary, aka Sara Lance.

Stephen Amell says Arrow 3x9, which is also the show's winter finale, "might just be the finest hour of television this show has ever produced."

"You can never fully judge one of our seasons until we've stamped out our first 9 episodes. [Arrow Season 3, Episode 9] will not leave you disappointed. In fact, it'll probably leave you gasping for air," Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen, posted on his Facebook page.

A night ago, another series based on DC Comics heroes delighted the viewers - "The Flash." It has only been a week since the well-received 2-parter crossover episodes of Arrow and The Flash aired on The CW. This week, each show's mid-season action and cliffhangers are stirring the fans.

Here are five of the things Arrow fans are looking forward to seeing on Arrow Season 3, Episode 9:

1. Oliver faces off with Ra's al Ghul. In the Arrow 3x9 promo clip, Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) remarks that Oliver Queen is "just a boy." "Star Wars" fans, FYI: The confrontation photos on Stephen Amell's Facebook page includes lightsabers.

2. Nyssa al Ghul. Katrina Law is always magnificent on Arrow. Brief or elaborate, Nyssa's presence always leads to major developments. Nyssa is still grieving over her beloved Sara's (Caity Lotz) death. More than anything, she wants answers.

3. Clues and/or answers. Who killed Sara Lance? Malcolm Merlyn has managed to convince Oliver Queen that he didn't do it. Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) has been training with Wildcat (J.R. Ramirez) so she could be the next Canary and avenge her sister's death. What else could viewers learn about Sara's murder in this week's new episode?

4. Malcolm Merlyn. John Barrowman's Malcolm is showing up in the mid-season finale based on the Arrow Season 3, Episode 9 promo. Incidentally, fans are wondering whether Thea Merlyn (Willa Holland) would be taking his side or the Arrow's if/when she is forced to choose.

5. The Atom Costume. Avid viewers have already seen the blueprint of Atom's suit. Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) are likely to have "the talk," but a lot of fans are hoping to see more of Atom, suited up. It is still unknown whether Ray aka Atom is aware that Oliver Queen is the Arrow.
