‘Arrow’ Season 3 Update: Ra’s Al Ghul Presents Lazarus Pit As ‘The Offer’ Stands In 3x16 (Spoilers)
“Arrow” Season 3 returns Mar. 18 on The CW. Episode 16, this week’s new episode, brings back Ra’s al Ghul and his offer to Oliver Queen. Lazarus Pit is featured in the 3x16 promo video, convincing some viewers the Demon’s Head is showing it off to close a deal with Ollie.
(Spoiler alert: This update contains “Arrow” Season 3 spoilers. Read on at your own risk.) Nyssa al Ghul, Laurel Lance and Thea Queen headline the 3x16 episode synopsis, but the promo video is founded on Ra’s al Ghul’s standing offer. At one point in the promo clip, Oliver says he’s considering it.
“Arrow” show boss Marc Guggenheim recently told The Hollywood Reporter viewers will “learn a lot more about [the Lazarus Pit] in 316.” In a promo clip, Ra’s al Ghul is seen dipping his bloodied hand into what appears to be the show’s version of the so-called fountain of youth of DC Comics.
Ra’s al Ghul’s voice is echoing through one of the latest “Arrow” Season 3 promos. He says, if Oliver Queen stays as The Arrow, he’s bound to get in more complex torture. If he becomes the next Ra’s al Ghul, he gets “a whole new world” to save.
“Maybe I should be Ra’s al Ghul,” Oliver Queen says in the promo clip for the 16th episode of “Arrow” Season 3. This develops after Ollie brings Malcolm Merlyn – alive – back in Starling City. Thea, meanwhile, struggles with the consequence of her decision to have his own father killed.
In the previous “Arrow” Season 3 episode, Thea unlocks Nyssa’s cell at the Arrow cave to engage her in a fight over the death of Sara Lance. It remains to be seen whether the League of Assassins would go after Thea, but the 3x16 episode synopsis states Nyssa and Laurel Lance will be talking about their respective fathers.
The following episode of “Arrow” Season 3 will further explore Ray Palmer’s character now that the ATOM suit is complete. Viewers expect some of it in this week’s new episode, but the 3x17 synopsis indicates the next episode will have more about the triangle of Ray, Oliver and Felicity.
