'Arrow' Season 5 poster: Back to the streets of Star City

A new poster of “Arrow” season 5 has been released online. The poster shows Oliver in his superhero suit on the streets of Star City. The TV series this year will return to the gritty action sequences that made the show popular in the first place.

After the death of Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), and John Diggle (David Ramsey) going off to join the army following the death of his brother, only Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) remain n the superhero team.

Oliver will attempt to clean up the streets alone in the beginning, but will later be forced to recruit new members to his team. According to the official synopsis of the new season, training the rookies will be quite a challenge.

The heroes will have to deal with the rising Mob in Star City this year. After introducing a villain with supernatural powers, the show is getting back to its roots in “Arrow” Season 5.

The members of the superhero team that Oliver will lead against the Mob this year include Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin) as Artemis and Curtis (Echo Kellum) as Mr. Terrific. Viewers will also get to see the comic book character Ragman (Joe Dinicol) this year.

The trailer of the premiere episode was previously released online. The video showed Oliver unveiling a statue of Laurel, to honour her work for Star City. The trailer also teased the villains of the city banding together in order to take on the superhero team.

Oliver was appointed as the new Mayor of Star City in the previous season. He will have to protect the citizens both in his official capacity as well as the superhero in “Arrow” Season 5. However, the trailer of the premiere episode showed him getting kidnapped by the villains.
