Losing to Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on matchday 3, Jack Wilshere believes that Arsenal will be able to learn from their mistakes and use them as a guide, moving forward in the UEFA Champions League.

"We've been there before and we were unlucky not to win that night," Wilshere told arsenal.com.

In what seemed to be an impending draw, luck stood against The Gunners as Robert Lewandowski delivered the decider in the 82nd minute of the game for Dortmund, coming from a perfectly placed cross to the middle of the box for a right footed shot by Lewandowski.

"It's a great stadium and a great atmosphere, we know what to expect so we've got to be ready for that when the time comes," he added.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided the visitors the lead with just 16 minutes following kick-off after Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey was dispossessed in front of their own goal.

A second-half Olivier Giroud strike, coming from a Bacary Sagna cross, saw the host cancel out the first goal.

However, it was Robert Lewandowski who stole the show and gave Arsenal the finishing blow.

Nevertheless, Wilshere remains optimistic and noted that The Gunners had their fair share of chances but was unable to finish.

"It was a tough game. They are a good team and they have great players but we played well as well. We were unlucky at times, Santi [Cazorla] had a great chance and we had a couple of other chances. But then they hit us on the break and we got caught but we'll bounce back," he said.

"They are efficient. Germans are always efficient, they've got great team shape and they have good individual players like we've seen here. They are a bit similar to us, they move the ball quickly."

The opportunity to advance to the round of 16 is wide open as Arsenal, Dortmund, and Napoli are all tied with 6 points in Group F.

Dortmund is leading the group by way of goal difference, with the Gunners right behind them and Napoli at third.
