Arsenal Transfer Rumors: Wenger to Bid for Dzeko, Villa, Diame and Adrian
The January transfer window will shut on Thursday night and there are speculations that Wenger is on desperate moves to bid for a striker to complete his squad.
According to reports from the DailyMail, David Villa is Arsene Wenger's top pick for the team. However, he confirmed last Tuesday that Barcelona is not ready to sell their striker for the midseason. This leaves Wenger with few choices since the January window for transfers is about to close.
While a massive offer for Villa could probably change the situation, Arsenal would not be willing to pay more than what they think a player is worth. So at least for now, getting David Villa is probably hopeless and Wenger is out of options.
But in the latest report from Mail, Wenger is said to be on the final negotiation process and will return with a player that is eager to move to the Emirates. Arsene admits that his team needs all the help they can get but finding a good talent is a difficult task.
"As numbers we have enough. We have plenty of quality strikers. We could do with top quality, one more, but you have to find him. When you speak about 'anyone' coming in, I could just go out and buy anyone just to give people hope," Wenger said.
"What is important is that you bring in players who can strengthen your team, or you do nothing and are strong enough to do nothing. That is what is important for us, to bring in a player who can strengthen the squad. 'Anyone' to me means exactly what today the modern game has become," he added.
DailyMail also reports that Arsene is keeping an eye on players like Manchester City's Edin Dzeko, Atletico Madrid's Adrian Lopez, and West Ham's Mohamed Diame.
Well whatever it is that he has in mind, better move quick to get a transfer for the Arsenal. The January window will close today and the chances of getting a reliable striker gets slimmer.
