“It is a good opportunity to respond straight away and that is what we want to do.” - Arsene Wenger Reuters

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that their midweek clash against Manchester United is his squad's perfect opportunity to bounce back after lacklustre display against Liverpool.

"It is a good opportunity to respond straight away and that is what we want to do," Wenger told arsenal.com.

"I can talk and talk and talk, [but] it is action that will decide that."

The Gunners received a shellacking at Anfield, conceding 4 goals in the first 20 minutes of the match, with the final tally at 5-1.

While a defeat of such extent would require other managers to make drastic changes to their line-up, the French mentor disclosed that he intends to stick with his old reliables.

"After a big disappointment like that you always sit there, thinking, 'Do I make five or six changes or do I give them a chance to show it was just an accident?' And most of the time you give the players a chance, especially if they have done well before," he intimated.

"If there is a continuity of a bad patch you have to change things, but if it is just one game, most of the time you give the players a chance to [put things right]."
