In what appears to be an attempt in deceit, cricketers in the Ashes match have been accused of using adhesive tape on their bats to block the Hot Spot review umpire from detecting foul play. During the series the Decision Review System has come under fire during most of the play time because of its inconsitent findings.

According to a report by Channel Nine, Geoff Allardice, the general manager of the International Cricket Council will be meeting with the players ahead of the fourth Test match.

A doubt regarding Kevin Pieterson's dismassal in an ealier match at Old Trafford was the first contention against the review system, say reports. News outlets reported that players from both side would be interrogated over the matter.

In fact, Warren Brennan, who invented the Hot Spot is expected to make a statement about his system and why there were so many inconsistencies.

"Both captains and coaches of the England and Australia teams have voiced support for the continued use of DRS but trust in Hot Spot has faded," the Telegraph reported.

"Allardice will listen to their concerns and report back to the ICC. He will also update the players on the latest trials of the improved snickometer, which the ICC hopes to add to the DRS system this winter."

The DRS has been blamed by Cricket Australia and the England coach Andy Flower have blamed during the series: Flower said in a statement "I thought that DRS had worked pretty well in international cricket prior to this series but in this series it hasn't worked well at all, " reports the Daily Telegraph.

In a previous umpiriing decision during the 3rd match, Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd said that it was a poor decision
