Ashley Greene coveted Bella Swan role in 'Twilight'
Ashley Greene revealed that she originally wanted to play Bella Swan, and not Alice Cullen in the Twilight Saga. Greene said she auditioned for Kristen Stewart's role in the franchise a couple of times.
Speaking to in a forum at New York City, organized by Mark cosmetics, Greene revealed that she originally went for the role of Bella, even as she did not know anything about the Stephenie Meyer's book series. As she read the Twilight books, she fell in love with the character and was quickly converted as a Twlight fan.
"I auditioned for Bella. Actually, I auditioned a few times," said Ashley.
Of course, Twilight fans know how it turned out. She eventually landed the role of vampire Alice Cullen in the series.
"They told me I wasn't right for it and I was heartbroken-I really, really wanted to be a part of the franchise."
"Then they came back to me with Alice and I absolutely love the character so I auditioned a few more times and against all odds, I got the part. I screamed, I cried. It was very exciting."
In the same forum, Ashley Greene revelead that she's with Team Edward owing to the fact that in the series she plays a vampire, like Robert Pattinson, and Jacob Black is their arch enemy.
