Asia-PAcific central bankers meet in Sydney this week
The Reserve Bank of Australia will meet with other East Asia-Pacific central banks this week in Sydney to debate economic issues affecting the banking and financial regulatory environment.
The forum will allow central bankers to share ideas on issues such as the implications of developing international regulatory standards and inflationary pressures for the Asia-Pacific region at the three-day gathering, the BoK said.
The representatives for the Executives' Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks, or EMEAP, comprise members from 11 central banks and monetary authorities in the East Asia-Pacific region - Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
The central bank chiefs will also be briefed by EMEAP's sub-committees, on recent activities surrounding bank supervision as well as payments and settlements. The group will then approve work plans, RBA said in a statement.
