Asian Men Swear by Animal Penis & Testicle at Goulizhuang Restaurant in China for Libido Boost (VIDEOS & PHOTOS)
Asian males are known to be prolific and horny. One big proof to that statement is to point to the population of China and India, which has breached the 1 billionth mark each a few years ago.
Sex and procreation is valuable to them, that's why many Chinese continue to hold on to the belief that eating the male reproductive organs of animals could boost their libido.
Food made mainly of animal penis and testicles such as the popular Soup No 5 are quite common in many Asian countries.
However, one restaurant in Beijing, China, specialises in dishes aimed to lift the libido of Chinese men. This is the Guolizhuang Restaurant which opened in 2006 and offers all kinds of dishes with animal genitals as the main ingredient.
What would probably cause westerners - who are even aghast at the site of ordinary fish head and tails - to throw up on sight of these dishes is considered a delicacy in Goulizhuang.
But it is not just males who patronise the popular dining establishment on Dongsishitiao Street but also women who believe that penises are good for their skin, but they are not served testicles which allegedly could give them a deeper voice and facial hair.
However, kids below 15 are not allowed, not due to prurient reasons, but because of a belief that the hormones in these anatomical parts hinder natural growth.
Majority of the diners are older couples or older-male groups, while some are businessmen transacting trade over the "weird" menu items.
Of course, these penises and testicles are not served as lump pieces of meat. They come with descriptions why that body part would be good for the diner.
One example is a 16 euro or $25 penis dish, accompanied by this text: "The sexual act of this Russian dog lasts 48 hours and its mating season is seven months out of the year."
Waitresses in the restaurant more than just serve the cooked food but also explain the history of animal penises to cure kidney and erection problems, but stresses these type of food must be eaten regularly.
But the restaurant also has quick-solution items such as a wine with extracts of a deer's heart, penis and blood, which guarantees a hard on in 30 minutes and reportedly is better than Viagra because of its lack of side effects.
The menu items even have interesting names such as The Essence of the Golden Buddha, Phoenix Rising and Jasmine Flowers with 1,000 Layers, which are actually ox penises cut into the shape of stars, sheep testicles served on a bed of curry and thinly sliced donkey penis.
The restaurant was founded by Mr Guo who left China in 1959 during the civil war and migrated to Taiwan then to Atlanta, Georgia where he learned more about traditional Chinese medicine and began to experiment with animal genitalia.
The items could be pricey such as the yak penis dish which costs $220, the 10 assorted penises plate for $110 and the tiger's penis at $1,500, which must be ordered months in advance.
That dish is only for silver, gold or platinum cardholding members.
