Asus Launches Flip C100 Worldwide

Asus has launched its latest device, this time in the form of a convertible Chromebook that can transform into a laptop, a tablet and other functional form. The company just launched Flip C100 and is now available for consumers worldwide.

The multi-functional Flip C100 runs on a quad-core Rockchip 3288-C processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, an ARM Mali T624 graphics processing unit. Buyers can now purchase the Flip C100 from the Asus eStore, Amazon and Newegg starting at $249 for the entry-level version. The entry-level version of the Flip C100 has 2 GB of RAM. Buyers can also opt to pay $299 for the 4 GB version.

The Flip C100 sports a 10.1-inch WXGA display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and a 10-point multitouch IPS display. This Chromebook is pretty small and light compared to others, weighing it just nearly at a very light 2 pounds. Its dimensions are 10.35 x 7.18 x 0.03 inches.

The Chromebook also sports two USB 2.0 ports and a full HD camera paired with a headphone and microphone jack or stereo speakers for video conferencing. It also houses an HDMI port and an SD card reader which could allow users to expand the built-in 16 GB of internal storage. It is powered by a two-cell battery that can last up to nine hours of use.

The Flip C100 is built with a light but durable aluminum chassis, and as the names suggests, can be flipped by the user in many ways, according to Tech Times. If the screen is flipped over 180-degrees, it can be used in its normal laptop mode or in presentation mode. The Flip C100 also contains a keyboard that is close to the size of a normal keyboard. The company says that the keyboard is as big as 97 percent of a regular keyboard used in PCs. This means that users will not feel the difference when typing on the Flip C100 which is notably smaller than most laptops.
