Asus announced that their Republic of Gamers Maximus VI Extreme motherboard has achieved overlocking supremacy at the Computex Taipei 2013. The motherboard, powered by Intel Z87, delivered 91% success rate at the convention. Asus also achieved several world records at an event hosted at the company's headquarters.

Overlocking supremacy and success rate came only after a few days since the motherboard's official release. The ASUS ROG Maximums motherboard won ten out eleven categories at the Intel and Corsair Computex OC Main Event. This is a milestone for ASUS as they competed against leading motherboard products from different brands.

Eight world records accomplished. Intel's 4th generation is not just the latest but also the fastest allowing the motherboard to go as much as 7.1GHz.

With four DDR3 DIMMs, the board has posted an impressive record of 3957MHz. At the time of the test, ASUS Maximums Extreme became fastest four-DIMM DDR3 on any Z87-based motherboard. Achieving records poured in eventually in a variety of events.

To date, the ASUS ROG Maximus VI Extreme has the following word records: 3DMark01, 3DMark05, PiFast, SuperPi 32M, 3DMark06 and AquaMark3. A number of high profile overclockers were invited at the ASUS headquarters. They collaborated with well-known ROG team members and overclockers like Andre Yang, Shamino and TL.

Other guests were Hazzan, Slamms, Christian Ney, Fredyama, Smoke, Sofos1990 and Youngpro. Tests were done from June 10-13 right after Computex Taipei 2013. ASUS is focusing on brining more world-setting excellence into their line of motherboards starting with Maximus VI
