ASUS continues to release a line of supercomputer and high end notebooks. The company recently unveiled another ultrabook - the Touch-Enabled 15.6-inch VivoBook S551. Running on Intel's latest 4th Generation Haswell based Core processor and power-efficient Nvidia GT 740M graphics processing unit, Asus is bringing competition over to their side.

ASUS just revealed their newest ultrabook. The device features a 15.6-inch touch enabled display. Vivobook S551 adds to the growing profile of the company. Just like the rest of the high end and ultrabook offerings, Asus decided to power the newest notebook with Intel 4th Generation Haswell Core microprocessor.

Running on Intel's latest Haswell processor ensures users that the Vivobook can perform every CPU related application without using much of the battery power. Likewise, the Ultrabook is not short on the graphics either. Featuring the mobile Nvidia GT 740M, the processing unit balances performance, power and low heat dissipation.

Low heat dissipation is important for ultrabooks especially because of their thin construction. This prevents overheating and other power problems. There is still mystery over why ASUS would add a GPU to their 15.6-inch display. The resolution is at 1366 x 768.

The Intel HD 4k IGP can handle more than enough tasks thus the confusion why ASUS would not maximize this for their latest VivoBook. The notebook has a touch-driven OS and runs on Windows 8. Users will realize the full potential of the touch-driven OS once they work with the display.

The new 22mn microprocessor makes the notebook power efficient. Power management features also include an efficient 28nm GPU. The VivoBook is 2.4kg and 22.5mm thick. ASUS is yet to announce the pricing.
