ATP World Tour Finals 2013 Group Stage Preview: Del Potro and Djokovic Target Semis Slot
Federer and Gasquet Also Hoping to Reach the Final Four
Spain’s Rafael Nadal has confirmed his status as tennis’ best, but that’s not stopping the other elite players in aiming for the title in the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 in London.
Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Juan Del Potro of Argentina take on each other on Thursday as they hope to join Nadal in the semifinals of the final tournament of the ATP season. Both Roger Federer of Switzerland and Richard Gasquet of France also want to keep their final four hopes alive when they meet in the first match-up of the day.

Djokovic or Del Potro needs to win in straight sets to qualify for the semifinals. If one does not win in two sets, the first semis qualifier in their group will be decided by the other match-up; a Djokovic and Federer win means that the Serbian qualifies and a Del Potro and Gasquet win allow the Argentine to advance.
Djokovic defeated Federer, 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-2, and Del Potro beat Gasquet, 6-7 (4), 6-3, 7-5, in the opening matches in Group B.
Djokovic has dominated Del Potro in their head-to-head match-up, winning 10 of 13 matches. Del Potro's last win (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) came at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 in Indian Wells, California in March 2013.
Meanwhile, Federer has a similar dominant record against Gasquet with winning 10 of 12 career matches against the French.
