Next week is going to be a full-packed movie trip with a wide-selection of movies to choose from. The first month of 2014 will feature movies tipped to win big awards for the upcoming 2014 Golden Globes and Oscars.

Keanu Reeves is back fighting with swords after a long rest for making movies and this time he will be fighting the murder of his master in "47 Ronin." "Walk the Line" star Joaquin Phoenix is also back in the big screen with his new movie "Her" starring opposite Scarlet Johansson.

'47 Ronin' - Jan. 16

A fantasy action film, "47 Ronin" depicts a fictional account of the forty-seven Ronin, a real-life materless Japanese samurai group in 18th century who avenge the murder of their master. Produced by Universal Studios, the movie stars Hollywood action star Keanu Reeves and directed by Carl Erik Rinsch.

The film was filmed in Budapest in March 2011 and was moved to Shepperton Studios in London and was concluded in Japan. Keanu Reeves plays Kai, a former slave who joins the Ronin with half-British and half-Japanese blood.

'Her' - Jan. 16

A Sci/fi romantic comedy, "Her" is written, directed and produced by Spike Jonze. Headed by Joaquin Phoenix, the movie stars an ensemble cast including Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, and Scarlet Johansson.

"Her" is about the lonely Theodore, played by Joaquin Phoenix, who buys a newly developed talking operating system and finds himself attracted to the software's voice which is voiced by Scarlet Johansson. Theodore was fascinated by the software's ability to learn and grow psychologically, and the two bonded over their discussions about love and life.

'Inside Llewyn Davis' - Jan. 16

A 2013 American comedy-drama film, "Inside Llewyn Davis" was written, edited and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. The movie is about a week in the life of a singer/songwriter, Llewyn Davis, who is active in New York's folk music scene in 1961.

Llewyn Davis is a fictional character but the story is partly inspired by the autobiography of folksinger Dave Van Ronk. "Inside Llewyn Davis" won the Grand Prix at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and received unlimited praise in the United States on Dec. 6, 2013. Oscar Isaac plays the main character Llewyn Davis, Carey Mulligan as Jean Berkey and John Goodman as Roland Turner.

'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' - Jan. 16

An American action thriller film, "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" is based on the character of Jack Ryan in the "Jack Ryan" film series. Not connected to Tom Clancy's novels, the movie is conceived by screenwriter Hossein Amini featuring the Jack Ryan character.

"Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" stars Chris Pine in the title role, and he is the fourth actor to assume the role following Ben Affleck, Alec Baldwin and Harrison Ford. The film is dedicated to Tom Clancy who died on October 1, 2013.
