Audi R8 is the Sickest Car in the World, V-10 Makes it the Quickest Car
The Audi R8 has successfully carved its own niche some people has even considered it as the "sickest car" in the world. While some people in industry feel the R8 is just a way for the company to amortise the costs of the Lamborghini Gallardo - it is impossible to deny the Audi R8.
When a car manages to go up against a Ferrari in terms of branding and car choice then there must be something right in it. According to Financial Review, even children as young as 10 years know the R8. It is a great leap considering the intense competition in the industry.
Many agree that the Audi R8 is indeed spectacular, especially when painted with the matte version of Sepang Blue. The finish is great for light absorption making it a sure head turner. Starting with $11,540 a few changes with the configurations can cost a buyer four times the initial price.
The R8 has lesser weight because of its simplified telematics system. It features a Bluetooth function, including a CD player. There are no electric seat adjustments.
It is Quick
The V10 can deliver a stunning 404 kW, though it is not the most powerful road car from the company. The title belongs to the V10-powered RS6 which delivers around 426 kW.
Though, there is no denying that the V10 plus is certainly the quickest. It can go from zero to 100 in just 3.5 seconds. It can give its predecessor and well loved R8 GT a run for its money. While others are still doubtful about the performance of the car, still, the engine speaks well for itself.
The engine bay is just as exceptional as the rest of the car. Black leather covers the seats complimenting the entire look. The tail showcases an automated pop-up spoiler. This is a definitely several times fold better looking that the GT's large fixed wing.
What about the performance? It is a wedged-shaped machine that comes with a greatly tuned 5.3 liter. Plus, it is an all-wheel drive. It starts just as quick when the driver pushes the start button. The car has an "auto" and "normal" default settings. When changed to "sport" mode, this is when the gears turns fast and furious.
The R8 just charges like a cannon fire. Acceleration has never been this brutal and impressive.
