Sofia Vergara was “too gorgeous” to talk to, according to Mark Coles Smith. The Australian up-and-coming actor was afraid to approach the “Modern Family” star when she, along with the rest of the cast, was in Australia to shoot a special episode.

Coles Smith was a guest star in the one-off Australian episode of the U.S. sitcom, playing a young tour guide named Koora.

According to him, all the cast members, Sofia included, were “very welcoming,” but he just couldn’t bring himself to talk to the Colombian actress because he got too intimidated.

“I got on with absolutely everyone except Sofia, but only because I didn’t have the courage to talk to her because I found her so absolutely gorgeous,” he told Confidential.

Nevertheless, he “just let bygones be bygones there and let that be.”

Sofia and the rest of the cast of “Modern Family” – Ed O’Neill, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons – filmed the episode special for two weeks Down Under.

The plot is being kept a secret, but it looks like it needed the help of some of Australia and New Zealand’s top personalities.

The producers had reached out to shock jock Kyle Sandilands for a pivotal role, but he turned the role down. They then asked Kiwi actor Rhys Darby to take on Sandiland’s discarded role, which he took.

Meanwhile, “Sunrise” presenter Samantha Armytage was rumoured to have started romance with Stonestreet after they were spotted having a long lunch together.
