Australian star Rebel Wilson has almost been arrested in Los Angeles. The 27-year-old Sydney native claimed that she was involved in a verbal altercation with airport security staff after she was accused of carrying a fake Alexander McQueen bag.

Wilson said that she was stopped by LAX airport security for “carrying an Alexander McQueen knuckle-duster purse,” which the staff thought was a fake.

The security staff apparently thought Wilson couldn’t afford the designer clutch bags, which range from $2000 and up. When she insisted that her bag was the real thing, she was then given a lecture about arguing with authority.

Almost got arrested at LAX for carrying an Alexander McQueen knuckle-duster purse..then I got a lecture about how it is also bad to buy fake

I said, "I know I'm Australian but I do have some cash, it's totes real!" - then I got another lecture about not arguing with them! — Rebel Wilson (@RebelWilson) December 21, 2013

All this reminds me of when I got kicked out of an 'Open House' Pretty Woman style last weekend coz the broker thought I couldn't afford it

It’s not as if Wilson couldn’t afford a luxury handbag. After co-starring in several commercially and critically successful flicks like “Pitch Perfect” and “Bridesmaids,” the Aussie star has created her own U.S. sitcom called “Super Fun Night.”

She’s also the show’s star, executive producer, and writer.

By the way, the “Pretty Woman” reference is about a scene from the 1990 romantic comedy flick, in which Julia Roberts’ character goes back to the high-end boutique where the sales staff snubbed her.
