Aussie Cricketer Shane Warne ‘Grosses Out’ Instagram Followers With Semi-Nude Selfie
It's the sexy photo no one wants to see. Australian cricketer legend Shane Warne tried to show the world his sexy side by posting a half-naked selfie of himself on Instagram, only to get rebuked by his followers for being "un-Australian."
The photo, presumably taken by Warne himself, sees the 43-year-old bowler in a seductive shirtless pose while he's lying on bed and giving viewers a smouldering look . It's not mentioned, but it also looked like he was wearing lipgloss on the photo.
"Morning," he captioned the Instagram photo.
Shirtless athlete photos are normally met with great enthusiasm from their fans, especially from their female followers. It always works for David Beckham, so it would surely work for Warne, too, right?
Not really. In fact, as soon as the picture was uploaded, Warne was bombarded with outcry from his followers who would rather not see him without a shirt on.
One commenter said that the photo was "un-Australian," while some agree that it's not the photo that they would want to wake up to in the morning.
"Eeeewwwww," one commenter eloquently wrote.
Even his own daughter, 11-year-old Summer, was embarrassed to see her dad in such photo, asking him to "Dad, take this down."
Warne took down the photo eventually, but not before addressing naysayers, saying, "Remember, never lose your sense of humour!!!"
One of his followers surely lost her sense of humour, though.
His girlfriend, English actress Elizabeth Hurley, wasn't amused with the Australian musical based on Warne's life.
Hurley thought the comedy "Shane Warne: The Musical" isn't fit for his children to watch.
"Mystified how supposedly decent actors can make a 'fun' musical about (Shane Warne) with subject matters guaranteed to make his 3 kids cry," she wrote on Twitter, which she promptly deleted.
The musical has been updated to include Warne's retirement from the sport and his relationship with the actress. It won Best New Australian Musical at the Green Room Awards in 2008, the year when it originally ran.
