An Aussie student in Oklahoma, Cris Lane, 23, was gunned down nonsensically "FOR THE FUN OF IT" as confessed by one of the teen suspects.

Mr Lane, who played baseball for the Tigers, was in Duncan to visit his girlfriend, Sarah Harper, when the hateful killing happened.

According to a report from KOCO.com, Mr Lane was jogging when three teenagers, aged 15, 16 and 17 chose him for a victim. Thankfully, the surveillance cameras in the area allowed police investigators to track down the three suspects immediately. The three suspects are now facing charges for first-degree murder. However, nothing can bring back the promising life of a young man wasted for the "Fun of it."

KOCo also reported that Mr Lane's school, the East Central University, is already gathering up fund to send Mr Lane's parents in Oklahoma from Australia.

Dr. Jeff Williams, the Athletic Director at East Central University, had all the nice words for Mr Lane.

"Chris was a well-liked young man here on campus. His teammates thought a lot of him. Seemed to be a bright, promising student," Dr. Williams said.

According to a report from Sky News, a woman tried to resuscitate Mr Lane through CPR until the paramedics came to rescue. But all effort was futile.

Apparently, the three teenager suspects were on intended "killing spree" as revealed by one of the suspects Facebook status, police said.

"Bang. Two drops in two hours," according to the Facebook status.

"They wanted to be Billy Bob Badasses. I think they were on a killing spree. We would have had more bodies that night if we didn't get them," a police chief said.

Meanwhile, Mr Lane's girlfriend Sarah Harper also took to Facebook her grievance and hurt about her boyfriend's death.

"I love you so much babe. From 2009 until forever you will always be mine and in a very special and protected place in my heart," Ms Harper said.

Peter Lane, Mr Lane's father told press in Melbourne that his son's death was senseless.

"There's not going to be any good come out of this because it was just so senseless. There wasn't anything he did or could have done. He was an athlete going for a jog like he would do five or six days a week in terms of his training schedule. To try and understand it is a short way to insanity, " said Mr Lane's father.
