Australia's Channel 7 TV network has announced its 2014 lineup featuring the highly anticipated mini series, "INXS: Never Tear Us Apart."

The announcement was made at Channel 7's program launch held at The Star in Pyrmont, New South Wales (NSW). The channel aims to turn up the heat in 2014 with several sexy shows lined up. This includes a show about INXS (pronounced "in excess"), the well-known Australian rock band, where the mini series will star Luke Arnold as lead singer Michael Hutchence who committed suicide on Nov. 22, 1997 in a hotel room in Sydney.

As famous rock stars, INXS lived the rock-and-roll lifestyle filled with sex, booze and drugs. The mini series from Shine Australia will capture that whole world while letting viewers get a glimpse of what it's like to be a member of INXS. It would depict the band's meteoric rise to the charts around the world.

To ensure the authenticity of the storyline, Shine Australia consulted with INXS Manager Chris Murphy.

The other shows in Channel 7's 2014 lineup include crime thriller, "The Killing Field," starring Rebecca Gibney, documentary drama, "Australia: The Story Of Us," makeover series, "Bringing Sexy Back," comedy, "The Goldbergs," "Intelligence," starring "Lost" actor Josh Holloway and "House Rules."

It will also feature "The Amazing Race Australia," and the drama series, "Resurrection," which is produced by Brad Pitt.

Channel 7 network Programming Director Angus Ross believes that "Intelligence," "The Goldbergs" and "Resurrection," will have high ratings.

"The only way you can be number one is to have shows that rate consistently across every hour of entertainment across the entire year. The only way to do that is with a combination of local and overseas content. Seven has a record and a power that is unmatched in launching overseas drama," Ross said.

Meanwhile, Channel 7 CEO Tim Worner celebrated the network's victory in the ratings game.

"Our success reaffirms and underlines the power of broadcast television ...(and) all because of the ideas and all because we've kept challenging ourselves to keep them fresh," he said.

Australia's Channel 7 2014 lineup featuring shows like "INXS: Never Tear Us Apart," "The Amazing Race Australia," "Resurrection" and "Intelligence," surely looks promising and have generated so much buzz that it looks like having ratings victory for the network in the near future.
