Even if many Australians these days are also tightening up their belts due to the effects of worldwide financial crisis, brand new research reveals that they are still ever ready to spend luxuriously on someone they love and treat special, as observed as well during the Valentine's Day that passed.

According to the General Manager of IBISWorld Karen Dobie, Aussies were willing to make very costly purchases even in the midst of all the saving up during the past few months. It could anything sparkly, whether it is one romantic dinner or just a costly bouquet of flowers or luxurious box of chocolates.

Lately, the trend of giving luxurious lingerie as love gifts is on a high along with the all popular gifts like flowers, cards and chocolates. Moreover, further studies show that the men are the ones more willing to put their money on the line all for love, outspending women at a far distance.

A certain poll discussed over at HeraldSun said that the average guy would spend about $74 to impress their date compared to the common female who would just spend about $59.

This can be good and bad news all at the same time. It is bad news that spending on not so important items can truly affect the capacity of anyone to save. But the good news that far more outweighs the bad is that this shows just how loving people can still be, especially for the lovers located down under.

It feels good to hear and discover that in this seemingly cruel and cold world, people can still give everything for love.
