Australia's cyclists dominated the debut velodrome events of the 2010 Commonwealth Games bagging all three golds up for grabs at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Scott Sunderland's new Games record of one minute and 1.411 seconds in the one kilometer time trial won him the gold with Jack Bobridge taking the same medal in the 4,000m individual pursuit and Anna Meares getting the third gilt with a new record 33.758 seconds in the 500m time trial.

Sunderland's feat was more than one second less than Scotland's Chris Hoy set in Manchester eight years ago. He beat Malaysia's Mohamad Rizal Tisin, who finished second in 1:02.678 and New Zealand's Edward Dawkins, who claimed the bronze.

With Meares' gold finish, she retained the title won in Melbourne four years ago. Adding icing on the cake was teammate Kaarle McCulloch's silver finish just more than a second away from Meares' new Games record.

Bobridge led from start to finish in the qualifying for the final of the 4,000m individual pursuit to set a new Games record of 4:14.845. He beat New Zealand's Jesse Sergent, who finished second. Another Australian, Michael Hepburn, went home with the bronze in the same event.
