Australia ARIA Chart: Aussies Love Michael Buble’s 'To Be Loved' for 3 Straight Weeks [LISTEN TO THE SONGS-AUDIO]
Canadian Singer, Michael Buble “To Be Loved” has Topped Australia’s Chart for 3 Straight Weeks
Canadian Singer, Michael Buble has been dominating at the ARIA Albums Chart for three consecutive weeks, the second longest running album in Australian chart, following Bruno’s album in January 2013.
To Be Loved is the singer-songwriter’s eighth album, released in U.K on April 15, 2013, then in Canada a week after. It features four original songs and ten cover versions by the popular vocal jazz singer, who is soon to be a Dad for his first child with wife, Luisana Lopilato.
It looks like Aussies just can’t have enough of their favorite “It’s a Beautiful Day” hit singer.
Here’s the reasons why Buble’s "To Be Loved" continues to reign in the ARIA chart.
1. It talks about love. Nothing could be more captivating than the songs for the heart. "My new record is about love, happiness, fun and yummy things,” Michael said in a statement posted on his website.
2. The album is a perfect showcase for Michael’s voice. The four original songs and ten cover versions have just been made perfectly for the three-time Grammy winner. Essayist and American social critic, James Baldwin noted that "Michael's voice seems to be getting better and better with each release", adding that Buble "has a lot to deliver to keep both fans and critics impressed."
3. To Be Loved is one of Buble’s works that is most “diverse and enjoyable.” The Oakland Press, Gary Graffnoted Buble’s efforts are "indeed a buoyant affair, marked by love songs sung in his distinctive manner, something altogether different from the classical bombast of a Josh Groban or the crooner stylings of Bublé’s big band-fronting forebears.”
4. The album is delivered in style. Matthew Horton of Virgin Media said that "the majority of To Be Loved boils down to straight retreads of admittedly great songs", adding, "that's just the way it goes. You don't come to Bublé for post-dubstep glitch experiments. You come for the polar opposite, delivered with style."
5. The album delivers what's expected of it. Francois Marchand was quoted as telling the Vancouver Sun, calling it "exactly what it should be: A middle-of-the-road jazz-pop crooner record that sparkles in your ears like a million little fizzy sugar-pop bubbles and is just cookie-cutter enough to please the masses.
