Australian Daniel Ricciardo is officially on a roll after bagging the Hungarian Grand Prix title on Sunday. The victory is his second in the 2014 Formula One season and also the second overall in his career.

The win came after Ricciardo’s breakthrough in Canada on June 8, 2014.

“It feels as good as the first, it really does. I don't know, I mean the safety car at the beginning played to our advantage and then I thought when the second one came out it didn't really help us but we managed to pull it off at the end, had to pass our way through and that was a lot of fun in the last few laps,” said the Australian via the F1 official website.

3. Lewis Hamilton (Great Britain/Mercedes) – +5.8 seconds
4. Nico Rosberg (Germany/Mercedes) – +6.3 seconds
5. Felipe Massa (Brazil/Williams) – +29.8 seconds

Ricciardo’s victory also meant that he remains in third place in the Drivers Championships rankings for the 2014 season. Hamilton’s third place finish in Hungary meant he’s just 11 points away from the top spot owned by Rosberg who has 202 points for the year.

It’s no surprise that these three drivers are the only ones who have won a title this year. Of the 11 races, Hamilton has 5 (Malaysia, Bahrain, China, Spain and Great Britain); Rosberg has 4 (Australia, Monaco, Austria and Germany) and Ricciardo with 2 (Canada and Hungary).

Proving that the Canada win wasn’t a fluke, Ricciardo is looking to further rise in the rankings.

“It honestly does compare to Canada. Obviously the first victory is special but it definitely leaves you wanting more.”
