The Cycling Australia 2012 Australian National Hand-cycling Series finally got underway in Sydney at the weekend, with three days of great racing in Sydney's Sutherland Shire.

With Round 1 cancelled due to unforseen circumstances, round 2 went ahead with full swing, hosted by the Sutherland and Bankstown Cycling Clubs, in conjunction with the Australian time Trial Association and Wheelchair Sports NSW. And while great weather may not have greeted the riders for Friday's opening day, the rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of all involved.

Glenn Bennett (H1), Michael Taylor (H2), Ben Perry (H3) and Stuart Tripp (H4) were all victorious in Friday's criterium, with Bennett, Taylor and Tripp also posting wins in Saturday's road race. Sue Reid claimed the honours in the H3 road race.

In Sunday's time trial, Taylor and Tripp made it three from three with resounding victories in their respective categories, with Reid claiming her second win of the weekend.

In the overall series standings, Glenn Bennett (H1), Michael Taylor (H2), Sue Reid (H3) and Stuart Tripp (H4) head the leader board in their divisions.

The next installment of the series will see riders head to regional Victoria, with Echuca hosting round 3 from February 25-26.
