Australian Sex Offender Caught Sending Sexually Explicit Messages to 9-Year-Old Girl Via Skype
An Australian sex predator has pleaded guilty to charges filed against him for luring his youngest victim, a 9-year-old girl in England, to engage in sexual activity using the Internet.
The alleged sex offender, 56-year-old Farhad Billimoria, used popular online messaging application Skype to send the young girl sexually explicit chat messages for more than four weeks in 2012 from his residence in Box Hill.
A county court in Melbourne heard Mr Billimoria's case and listened to the indecent conversations the sexual predator had with the girl. He had encouraged and engaged the girl to perform sexual activities using a webcam.
Mr Billimoria, a former chef, told pleaded to the court that he was guilty of using a communications service to transmit sexually explicit communications to a person under 16 years of age and engaging in sexual activities with a minor.
Judge Wendy Wilmoth told the convicted sexual predator that the prosecution team had told her there had been no victim as young as 9 related to sexual offences.
Victoria police had received information from the UK police that the 9-year-old girl has been receiving sexually explicit messages from an Internet account belonging to an Australian. The tip included information about Skype chat logs taken from the computer used by the girl.
After Mr Billimoria was located and arrested, he admitted to the indecent communications but denied having "cam sex" or performing sexual acts using a webcam. He said he made friends with he found her username in an adult chat room.
Mr Billimoria blamed the girl for having instigated the whole thing. He also claimed the girl asked him several questions related to sex and said he only answered "like a parent would."
After further investigation involving the analysis of the computer hard drive, authorities found that Mr Billoria was behind the sexually explicit conversations.
The mother of the young victim wrote in the victim impact statement that the issue had proved to be difficult for her family. She was afraid that her daughter will suffer from the experience when she is older.
The judge sentenced the sexual predator to prison for three years.
